Clerkenwell Design Week took place from 25-27th May on the streets and squares of the irresistibly cool neighbourhood that has, thanks to its multitude of design, architecture and media studios, become known as London’s creative hub.

The exhibition featured 60 design showrooms devoted to cutting edge interior design; luminaries such as Design Museum and Barbican exhibited alongside hip young designers, and several eagerly expected product launches, seminars, workshops and debates took place in front of a keen, stylish audience.

But Clerkenwell Design Week was more than just an exhibition. The streets of Clerkenwell were absolutely buzzing with activity as quirky installations such as “Sound Flowers” and “Forest of Light” popped up in squares, indie bands played on pub terraces, and visitors flocked to the crafts market nestled in the picturesque St John’s Square. There were film screenings, graffiti workshops, mechanical robots, treasure hunts and even ice creams made of clouds! A truly extraordinary event with an ambitious concept and flawless execution.

The heart of the Clerkenwell Design Week was The Farmiloe Building, an old Victorian warehouse which recently starred as the backdrop to Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. Aztec provided audio-visual equipment for the show; we organized the band stage overlooking the courtyard of the warehouse, which hosted regular concerts and the bubbly closing party. Aztec also equipped the seminar/press room and provided two mobile band set-ups on St John’s Square and Clerkenwell Green.
